Application Information

To apply for a scholarship, families must complete ALL of the following steps:

• Select classes and enroll online (see link at bottom of page)
• Provide documentation to verify eligibility (see section below)
• Pay $20 processing fee by credit card (Visa, American Express, Master Card, or Discover)

Eligibility Information

To qualify for a Hands-On Science Camp scholarship, families must provide Proof of Eligibility to complete the online application.
(Document upload will be required DURING the application process. Please make sure documentation is in hand prior to beginning.)

Applicants must provide ONE of the following:

• Picture of qualification letter or current card showing participation in one of the following:
  • Eligible Programs:
    Medi-Cal/Low Income Health Insurance
    CalFresh
    WIC
    CalWORKs (TANF)
    When taking pictures, please cover account numbers, but leave name(s) visible.

OR

• Completed, authorized self-certification statement, indicating income under the very low income guidelines for Los Angeles County.

  • By submitting self-certification, applicants certify that household income is within the stated limitations. Eligibility may be reviewed at any time, and applicants agree to submit proof of income-based eligibility upon request. Accepted documentation may include pay stubs, tax forms, or other official correspondence.

Policies

Please review the following policies before submitting an application:

• All scholarships will be awarded on a first-come, first served basis.
• Scholarships will not be processed with missing information, including proof of eligibility and/or online class selection.
  • Failure to submit documentation of eligibility will result in forfeiting of reserved classes. See Eligibility Information section above.
• Only one week of scholarships will be awarded per camper, and limited to two campers per family.
• All campers are eligible to apply for one full-day, one half-day, or two half-days combined within the same week.
• Only one submission will be accepted per camper.
• Acceptance/denial letters will be e-mailed after enrollment has been processed.
  • Please allow up to 30 calendar days for processing applications.
• Cancellation/change policy: One change will be accepted per family.
  • Additional changes will result in a $25 fee per change.
