Summer Camp Extended Day Lead

SUMMARY

The Program Lead is responsible coordinating the afternoon Extended Day Program. The Program Lead is primarily responsible for planning, preparing and implementing activities for participants.

Job Dates:

• Full Summer: (06/16 - 08/08); with additional training days
• Partial LAUSD Summer: (07/01 - 08/01); with additional training days

QUALIFICATIONS

• College courses in science and/ or physical education preferred.
• 1 to 2 year’s experience teaching or working with the public in a classroom, informal educational/public setting preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills and team player with an energetic personality.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Bilingual fluency in Spanish, Chinese, or Korean desired.
• Good computer skills with relevant software applications.
• Effective interpersonal skills with diverse audiences.
• Ability to work with little or no supervision.
• Physical ability to lift, move, and organize supplies that may weigh up to 25 lbs.
• Physical ability to stand and walk for long period of times.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule that may includes some holidays, weekends and evenings.

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Plans and prepares activities and snack for participating groups of preschool, elementary and secondary aged children.
• Supervises and coordinates extended day programs.
• Responsible for purchasing and sorting all supplies including healthy snacks and beverages for participants.
• Organizes and prepares materials for use in programs.
• Responsible for following all closing and security procedures for assigned buildings.
• Tracks student attendance in the program.
• Performs other duties as required.

COMPENSATION

Salary Rage: $23.00 - $25.00/ Hour
